Method

Preparation of Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Brew the Espresso

Brew 240 ml of strong espresso coffee and let it cool to room temperature.

  2. 2

    Mix with Liqueur

In a shallow dish, combine the cooled espresso with 60 ml of coffee liqueur. Set aside.

Preparation of Filling

  1. 3

    Whisk Egg Yolks

In a mixing bowl, whisk together 4 egg yolks and 100 g of sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy.

  2. 4

    Add Mascarpone

Add 500 g of mascarpone cheese and 1 tsp of vanilla extract to the egg yolk mixture. Mix until smooth.

  3. 5

    Whip Cream

In a separate bowl, whip 240 ml of heavy cream until soft peaks form.

  4. 6

    Fold Cream into Mixture

Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.

Assembling the Tiramisu

  1. 7

    Dip Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger cookie into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 8

    Layer Cookies and Filling

In a rectangular dish, create a layer of soaked ladyfingers, followed by a layer of the mascarpone filling. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used.

  3. 9

    Refrigerate

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

Topping the Tiramisu

  1. 10

    Dust with Cocoa

Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with 30 g of cocoa powder using a fine sieve.

  2. 11

    Add Chocolate Shavings

Sprinkle 20 g of dark chocolate shavings on top for garnish.
