Meatballs Preparation

Prepare the Meatball Mixture
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, eggs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Form the Meatballs
Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place the formed meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake the Meatballs
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through and browned on the outside.
Whipped Ricotta Preparation

Whip the Ricotta
In a medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, heavy cream, and salt. Use an electric mixer to whip until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Set aside.

Prepare the Bread
Slice the French bread in half lengthwise. Optionally, toast the bread slices lightly under the broiler for a few minutes.

Assemble the Sandwich
Spread a generous layer of whipped ricotta on each half of the toasted bread. Place 3-4 meatballs on top of the ricotta, then add a slice of provolone cheese, some sliced red onion, and a handful of fresh basil leaves.

Serve with Marinara
Serve the assembled sandwiches with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
