For the Buttered Broccoli

Prepare the Broccoli
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the broccoli florets and cook for 3-4 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and immediately plunge into ice water to stop cooking.

Cook the Rice
Add the jasmine rice to the saucepan, stirring to coat with the oil and aromatics. Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth and add salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.

Fluff the Rice
Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
For the Compound Butter or Sauce

Make the Compound Butter
In a mixing bowl, combine softened unsalted butter, lemon zest, chopped herbs, and lemon juice. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated. Transfer to a piece of plastic wrap, form into a log, and refrigerate until firm.
To Serve

Plating the Dish
On a serving plate, place a generous scoop of jasmine rice pilaf, top with sautéed buttered broccoli, and slice the compound butter over the top. Garnish with microgreens or local herbs before serving.
