Method

Preparing the Fries

  1. 1

    Cut and Soak

Wash and cut the Kennebec potatoes into thin fries. Soak them in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  2. 2

    Heat Oil

In a large pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Fry the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and pat them dry. Fry in batches until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels, then season with salt.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 4

    Season the Steak

Rub the prime ribeye steaks with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. 5

    Cook the Steak

Heat a skillet or grill over high heat. Cook the steaks for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.

  3. 6

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from heat and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Making the Salad

  1. 7

    Prepare the Salad

In a large bowl, combine mixed greens, halved cherry tomatoes, sliced cucumber, and thinly sliced red onion.

  2. 8

    Dress the Salad

Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, then season with salt and pepper to taste. Toss to combine.
