Prepare the Hot Chocolate
In a small saucepan, combine the whole milk, cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Heat over medium heat, whisking continuously until the mixture is hot and well combined. Do not let it boil.

Make the Whipped Cream
In a mixing bowl, pour the heavy cream and beat with a hand mixer or stand mixer until soft peaks form. Sweeten with a little sugar if desired.

Serve
Pour the hot chocolate into mugs and top generously with the house-made whipped cream. Add chocolate shavings or marshmallows on top, if desired. Enjoy with complimentary refills!
