Mardi Gras Muffuletta Ingredients

Method

Mardi Gras Muffuletta Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Olive Salad

In a bowl, combine the olive salad, sliced pepperoncini, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. Mix well and set aside to marinate.

  2. 2

    Slice the Bread

Cut the muffuletta bread in half horizontally. Hollow out some of the soft bread from the inside to make room for the fillings.

  3. 3

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of the bread, layer the sliced salami, ham, mortadella, provolone cheese, and fresh basil leaves. Spoon the marinated olive salad generously over the layers.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Sandwich

Place the top half of the muffuletta bread on the sandwich. Press down gently to compact the ingredients.

  5. 5

    Wrap and Refrigerate

Wrap the assembled sandwich tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

  6. 6

    Slice and Serve

Remove the sandwich from the refrigerator, unwrap, slice into wedges, and serve.
