Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk and eggs until smooth. Melt the unsalted butter and add it to the wet mixture.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

Blueberry Filling Preparation

    Prepare Blueberries

In a medium bowl, combine the fresh blueberries, granulated sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Toss gently to coat the blueberries.

Assembly and Baking

    Add Base to Dish

Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.

  2. 7

    Layer Blueberries

Evenly distribute the blueberry filling over the batter layer.

  3. 8

    Top with Remaining Batter

Spoon the remaining batter over the blueberries, spreading it gently to cover.

  4. 9

    Prepare Topping

In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, oats, cinnamon, and melted butter until crumbly.

  5. 10

    Add Topping

Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the batter.

  6. 11

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  7. 12

    Cool and Serve

Remove from oven, let cool for about 15 minutes, then slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
