Method
Ice Cream Preparation
- 1
Mix the Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Whisk together until the sugar is fully dissolved.
- 2
Chill the Mixture
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the mixture is cold.
- 3
Churn the Ice Cream
Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes, until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
- 4
Freeze the Ice Cream
Transfer the churned ice cream into an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
Chocolate Sauce Preparation
- 5
Heat the Cream
In a small saucepan over medium heat, bring the heavy cream to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
- 6
Add Chocolate Chips
Once the cream is simmering, remove it from the heat and add the semi-sweet chocolate chips. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
- 7
Finish the Sauce
Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to enhance the flavor. Let the sauce cool slightly before serving.
