Cocktail Base

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Muddle the Mint and Sugar

In a sturdy glass or cocktail shaker, add the fresh mint leaves and granulated sugar. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently press the mint leaves to release their oils while mixing with the sugar.

  2. 2

    Juice the Lime

Cut the lime in half and squeeze the juice into the glass or shaker, being careful to catch any seeds. If desired, you can also add a few lime wedges to the muddled mixture for extra flavor.

  3. 3

    Add the Rum

Pour in the white rum over the muddled mixture and stir gently to combine all the ingredients.

  4. 4

    Add Ice

Fill the glass with ice cubes, leaving some space at the top for the club soda.

  5. 5

    Top with Club Soda

Pour the club soda over the ice-filled glass until it reaches the rim. Stir gently to mix the ingredients together.

  6. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish your mojito with a sprig of fresh mint and a lime wedge on the rim of the glass. Serve immediately with a straw.
