Method

Brownie Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Melt the Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Mix Sugars and Eggs

In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and the melted butter. Stir until well combined. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. 4

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt.

  5. 5

    Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix. Fold in the chocolate chips.

  6. 6

    Pour into Baking Pan

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.

  7. 7

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  8. 8

    Cool and Serve

Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before cutting into squares. Serve warm with scoops of vanilla ice cream on top or on the side.
