Oysters

Method

Oysters Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Oysters

Rinse the oysters under cold water and scrub the shells to remove any dirt. Pat them dry with a paper towel.

  3. 3

    Season the Oysters

Place the oysters on a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with salt and black pepper.

  4. 4

    Roast the Oysters

Roast the oysters in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, until they are slightly opened.

Cajun Cream Preparation

  1. 5

    Make the Cajun Cream

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream, Cajun seasoning, minced garlic, and lemon juice. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer.

  2. 6

    Thicken the Cream

Allow the mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat.

Pickled Peppers Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare the Pickling Liquid

In a small saucepan, combine white vinegar, sugar, salt, and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar and salt have dissolved.

  2. 8

    Pickle the Peppers

Slice the bell peppers into thin strips and add them to a jar. Pour the hot pickling liquid over the peppers and let them cool to room temperature.

  3. 9

    Refrigerate

Once cooled, cover the jar and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Final Assembly

  1. 10

    Assemble the Dish

Once the oysters are roasted, remove them from the oven. Drizzle the Cajun cream over each oyster generously.

  2. 11

    Add Pickled Peppers

Top each oyster with a few pieces of pickled peppers.

  3. 12

    Garnish

Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley over the top before serving.

  4. 13

    Serve

Serve the roasted oysters warm as an appetizer.
