Method

Salad Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Frisée

Wash the frisée lettuce thoroughly under cold running water to remove any dirt or grit. Shake off excess water or use a salad spinner to dry the leaves. Tear the frisée into bite-sized pieces and place in a large salad bowl.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Carrot

Peel the carrot using a vegetable peeler. Use a grater to shred the carrot finely, or use a mandoline to create thin ribbons. Add the shredded carrot to the salad bowl with the frisée.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Orange

Cut the orange in half, then use a juicer to extract the juice. Set the juice aside. Carefully remove the peel and segments from the remaining orange, discarding any seeds. Cut the segments into smaller pieces and add to the salad bowl.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Pistachios

If using unshelled pistachios, remove the shells. Roughly chop the pistachios and sprinkle them over the salad.

  5. 5

    Add Fromage Blanc

Spoon the fromage blanc over the salad mixture in the bowl.

Dressing Preparation

  1. 6

    Mix the Dressing

In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, white wine vinegar, honey, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  2. 7

    Dress the Salad

Drizzle the dressing over the salad ingredients in the large bowl. Toss gently to combine, ensuring all ingredients are coated with the dressing.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve the Salad

Divide the salad among individual serving plates or bowls. Optionally garnish with additional pistachios or a dollop of fromage blanc on top. Enjoy immediately!
