Method
Chicken Teriyaki
- 1
- 2
Marinate Chicken
Add the boneless chicken thighs to the sauce and marinate for at least 30 minutes (or longer for better flavor).
- 3
Cook Chicken
Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the marinated chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.
- 4
- 5
Serve
Slice the cooked chicken and drizzle with the thickened teriyaki sauce. Garnish with sliced green onions.
California Roll
- 6
Prepare Sushi Rice
Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook the rice according to the package instructions.
- 7
Season Rice
Once rice is cooked, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt into the warm rice to season it. Let it cool to room temperature.
- 8
Prepare Nori
Place a nori sheet on a sushi mat or a clean surface. Wet your hands to prevent sticking and spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori.
- 9
Fill Nori
Arrange julienned cucumber, sliced avocado, and crab sticks in a line along the center of the rice-covered nori.
- 10
Roll and Slice
Using the mat, carefully roll the nori tightly around the fillings. Slice the roll into bite-sized pieces.
Steamed Rice
- 11
Boil Rice
In a pot, combine white rice and water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- 12
Simmer
Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for about 15 minutes or until the rice is tender and water is absorbed.
- 13
Fluff Rice
Remove from heat and let it sit covered for another 10 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.
Salad
- 14
Prepare Salad
In a large bowl, combine mixed greens, halved cherry tomatoes, and sliced cucumber.
- 15
Make Dressing
In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper to create the dressing.
- 16
Dress Salad
Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss to combine. Serve fresh.
