Method

California Roll Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare Sushi Rice

Rinse 2 cups of sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook according to the package instructions. Once cooked, mix the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small bowl until dissolved. Gently fold this mixture into the cooked rice and let it cool.

  2. 2

    Prepare Fillings

Thinly slice the cucumber and avocado. Shred imitation crab meat into smaller pieces.

  3. 3

    Roll the Sushi

Place a nori sheet on a bamboo sushi mat, shiny side down. Wet your hands and spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving a small border at the top. Arrange cucumber, avocado, and imitation crab in a line across the rice. Roll the sushi tightly using the mat, sealing the edge with a little water. Cut into bite-sized pieces.

Fair Oaks Roll Directions

  1. 4

    Prepare Sushi Rice

Use the remaining 2 cups of sushi rice and follow the same preparation method as for the California roll.

  2. 5

    Prepare Fillings

Slice the salmon and prepare the cream cheese by cutting it into strips. Chop the chives finely.

  3. 6

    Roll the Sushi

Repeat the rolling process as done for the California roll. Place a nori sheet on a bamboo mat, spread sushi rice, and layer with salmon, cream cheese, and chives. Roll tightly and cut into pieces.

Sea Steak Directions

  1. 7

    Marinate the Fish

In a bowl, mix olive oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Add the fish steak and marinate for about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 8

    Cook the Fish

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated fish steak and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until cooked to your desired doneness.

  3. 9

    Serve

Slice the cooked fish steak and serve alongside the sushi rolls.
