Prepare the Chicken

Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, combine olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken breasts and coat them well with the marinade. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
Make the Teriyaki Sauce

Combine Sauce Ingredients
In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.

Thicken the Sauce
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Gradually add this to the saucepan while stirring continuously. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat.
Grill the Chicken

Grill the Chicken
Place the marinated chicken breasts on the preheated grill. Grill for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

Baste with Teriyaki Sauce
During the last few minutes of grilling, brush the chicken with the prepared teriyaki sauce.

Plate the Chicken
Remove the grilled chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. Slice the chicken and place it on a serving platter.

Garnish and Serve
Drizzle any remaining teriyaki sauce over the chicken. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve hot.
