Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins with butter and lightly dust with flour to prevent sticking.

  2. 2

    Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter and semi-sweet chocolate over low heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from the heat and let it cool slightly.

Batter Mixing

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, large eggs, and large egg yolks until well combined. Add the melted chocolate mixture and mix until smooth.

  2. 4

    Add Dry Ingredients

Gently fold in the all-purpose flour and vanilla extract until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the batter.

Baking

  1. 5

    Fill Ramekins

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.

  2. 6

    Bake

Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.

  3. 7

    Cool

Remove from the oven and let them cool for 1 minute. Carefully run a knife around the edges to loosen, then invert onto serving plates.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve

Serve immediately while warm, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
