Burger Patty

Toppings

Method

Preparing the Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Shape Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Cooking the Patty

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare Toppings

While the patties are cooking, wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomato and onion.

  2. 6

    Assemble Burger

Once the patties are cooked, place each patty on the bottom half of a burger bun. Top with lettuce, tomato slices, onion slices, and the top half of the bun.
