Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mix the Meat Loaf Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, beaten eggs, milk, salt, black pepper, and Dijon mustard. Mix until well combined, but do not overmix.

Transfer the meat mixture to a loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf. Smooth the top with a spatula.
Making the Bourbon Glaze

Combine Glaze Ingredients
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, bourbon, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Stir until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is smooth.

Allow the glaze to simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and set aside.
Baking the Meat Loaf

Once the oven is preheated, pour half of the bourbon glaze over the shaped meat loaf, reserving the other half for later.
