Method

Waffle Batter

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; some lumps are okay.

Cooking the Waffles

  1. 4

    Preheat Waffle Maker

Preheat your waffle maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  2. 5

    Cook the Waffles

Lightly grease the waffle maker with non-stick spray or oil. Pour enough batter to cover the waffle iron and close the lid. Cook until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes.

  3. 6

    Remove and Keep Warm

Carefully remove the waffle and keep warm in a low oven while cooking the remaining batter.

Maple Cayenne Butter

  1. 7

    Make the Maple Cayenne Butter

In a small bowl, soften the unsalted butter at room temperature. Mix in the maple syrup and cayenne pepper until well blended.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve

Serve the waffles warm with a generous dollop of the maple cayenne butter on top and a side of maple syrup for drizzling.
