Prepare the Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.

Combine Ingredients
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; some lumps are okay.
Cooking the Waffles

Preheat Waffle Maker
Preheat your waffle maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Cook the Waffles
Lightly grease the waffle maker with non-stick spray or oil. Pour enough batter to cover the waffle iron and close the lid. Cook until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes.

Remove and Keep Warm
Carefully remove the waffle and keep warm in a low oven while cooking the remaining batter.
Maple Cayenne Butter

Make the Maple Cayenne Butter
In a small bowl, soften the unsalted butter at room temperature. Mix in the maple syrup and cayenne pepper until well blended.

Serve the waffles warm with a generous dollop of the maple cayenne butter on top and a side of maple syrup for drizzling.
