Ingredients for Banh Mi
Method
Directions for Preparing Banh Mi
- 1
Prepare the Pork Belly
Slice the pork belly into thin strips. In a bowl, mix the Sriracha sauce with the pork belly and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- 2
Pickle the Vegetables
In a bowl, combine the daikon radish, carrot, rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Mix well and let it sit for at least 20 minutes to pickle.
- 3
Cook the Pork Belly
Heat a pan over medium heat and cook the marinated pork belly until crispy and cooked through, about 10-15 minutes.
- 4
Prepare the Baguette
Slice the baguette lengthwise without cutting all the way through. Lightly toast it if desired.
- 5
Assemble the Banh Mi
Spread mayonnaise on the inside of the baguette. Layer the cooked pork belly, pickled vegetables, jalapeños, and fresh cilantro inside the baguette.
- 6
Serve
Cut the Banh Mi into portions and serve immediately.
