Marinade Preparation

Prepare Guajillo Chiles
Remove stems and seeds from guajillo chiles. Rinse them under warm water to soften.

Blend Marinade
In a blender, combine softened guajillo chiles, garlic cloves, cumin, oregano, lime juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Blend until smooth.
Steak Preparation

Marinate the Flank Steak
Place flank steak in a large bowl or zip-top bag. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it's well coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

Rest the Steak
Once cooked, transfer the steak to a cutting board and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Slice the Steak
Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.
Assembling the Dish

Prepare the Toppings
While the steak is resting, prepare the toppings by placing shredded lettuce, salsa verde, pico de gallo, and crumbled queso fresco in separate serving bowls.

Place sliced carne asada on a serving platter. Serve with shredded lettuce, salsa verde, pico de gallo, and queso fresco on the side for topping.
