Method

Brownie Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Melt Butter and Mix Sugars

In a medium saucepan, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in 2 cups of granulated sugar and 1 cup of brown sugar until combined.

  3. 3

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Let the mixture cool slightly, then beat in 4 large eggs one at a time. Stir in 2 tsp of vanilla extract.

  4. 4

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, and 0.5 tsp of salt.

  5. 5

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.

  6. 6

Fold in Chocolate Chips and Bananas

Fold in 1 cup of chocolate chips and 2 ripe bananas that have been mashed until smooth.

  7. 7

    Bake the Brownies

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  8. 8

    Cool and Cut Brownies

Allow brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

Sundae Assembly

  1. 9

    Scoop Ice Cream

Place 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream in a bowl or dessert dish.

  2. 10

    Add Brownie

Cut a brownie square and place it on top of the ice cream.

  3. 11

    Drizzle with Caramel

Drizzle 0.5 cup of caramel sauce over the brownie and ice cream.

  4. 12

    Top with Whipped Cream

Add a generous dollop of whipped cream on top.

  5. 13

    Finish with Cherry

Garnish with a maraschino cherry on top of the whipped cream.
