Tortilla Shell Preparation
- 1
Fry Tortillas
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add one flour tortilla at a time, cooking for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Shape the tortilla over an inverted bowl or a taco shell mold while frying to create a crown shape. Remove and let drain on paper towels.
Filling Preparation
- 2
Cook the Meat
In the same skillet, drain excess oil if necessary and add ground beef or chicken. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until fully cooked (about 5-7 minutes). Drain any excess fat. Stir in black beans and cheese dip until everything is heated through and well combined.
Assembling the Taco Salad
- 3
Layer the Ingredients
In each tortilla shell, start by placing a generous amount of the meat and cheese mixture at the bottom. Top with mixed greens, then add spoonfuls of sour cream and guacamole. Garnish with diced tomatoes on top.
