Churro Dough

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

Method

Prepare Churro Dough

  1. 1

    Boil the Mixture

In a medium saucepan, combine the water, unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the all-purpose flour until fully incorporated and the mixture forms a ball.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Let the dough cool for about 5 minutes. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until the dough is smooth and shiny.

Prepare Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  1. 4

    Mix Coating Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Mix well and set aside.

Fry Churros

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Pipe the Dough

Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe 3-inch long strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting them with scissors.

  3. 7

    Fry Until Golden

Fry the churros in batches, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  4. 8

    Drain and Coat

Using a slotted spoon, remove the churros from the oil and drain on paper towels. While still warm, toss them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated.
