Method
Preparation of Pork Filling
- 1
Season the Pork
In a large bowl, combine the cubed pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well until the pork is evenly coated with the seasoning.
- 2
Simmer the Pork
In a large pot, add the seasoned pork and pour in the green chile sauce. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cover and cook for about 1 hour, or until the pork is tender, stirring occasionally.
Assembling the Burritos
- 3
Prepare the Tortillas
Warm the flour tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side, until pliable.
- 4
Fill the Tortillas
Take a warm tortilla and place a portion of the simmered pork filling in the center. Roll the tortilla tightly around the filling, folding in the sides as you go to secure the filling inside. Repeat with remaining tortillas.
Serving the Burritos
- 5
Top with Cheese Dip
Place the rolled burritos on a serving plate. Drizzle cheese dip generously over the top of each burrito.
- 6
Add Additional Green Chile Sauce
Pour additional green chile sauce over the cheese-topped burritos for an extra kick of flavor.
- 7
Serve with Sides
Serve the burritos hot alongside cooked rice and refried beans on the side.
