Method

Preparation of Steak Filling

  1. 1

    Prepare Ingredients

Thinly slice the flank steak, mushrooms, and onion.

  2. 2

    Cook Steak

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced steak, salt, and black pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until browned and cooked to desired doneness. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  3. 3

    Cook Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and mushrooms. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened and slightly caramelized. Combine with the cooked steak.

Preparation of Rice and Beans

  1. 4

    Cook Rice

In a saucepan, combine white rice, water, cumin, and garlic powder. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked and water is absorbed.

  2. 5

    Heat Beans

In a separate pot, heat the black beans over medium heat until warmed through.

Assembly and Serving

  1. 6

    Assemble Burrito

Lay the flour tortilla flat. In the center, layer the cooked steak and vegetable mixture, followed by a portion of rice and beans.

  2. 7

    Add Toppings

Drizzle cheese dip over the filling, then top with pico de gallo.

  3. 8

    Roll Burrito

Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll from the bottom up to enclose the filling completely. Repeat with the second tortilla.

  4. 9

    Serve

Serve warm with additional cheese dip and pico de gallo on the side, if desired.
