Chicken Tenders
Method
Preparation
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine the chicken tenders and buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.
- 2
Prepare the Coating
In a shallow dish, mix together flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Coat the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each tender in the flour mixture, ensuring they are well coated.
- 5
Fry the Chicken
Carefully place the coated chicken tenders in the hot oil, cooking in batches if necessary. Fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the chicken tenders from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with seasoned fries and choice of coleslaw or macaroni & cheese.
