1. Prepare the Ingredients

Slice the onion and mushrooms, and chop the pancetta into small pieces.

2. Cook the Pancetta

In a skillet over medium heat, add the pancetta and cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.

3. Caramelize the Onions

In the same skillet, add olive oil if needed, then add the sliced onion. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the onion is caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.

4. Sauté the Mushrooms

Add the mushrooms to the skillet with the onions and cook until tender, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper.

5. Cook the Steak

Season the steak with salt and black pepper. In a separate pan, sear the steak over high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Adjust time to desired doneness.
