Method

Preparation of Octopus

  1. 1

    Clean the Octopus

Rinse the octopus thoroughly under cold water. Remove the beak and any innards if necessary.

  2. 2

    Boil the Octopus

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the octopus and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook for about 45 minutes or until tender.

  3. 3

    Cool and Prepare for Grilling

Once cooked, remove the octopus from the pot and allow it to cool. Cut it into manageable pieces for grilling.

Grilling

  1. 4

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  2. 5

    Marinate the Octopus

In a bowl, mix the olive oil, minced garlic, and chopped parsley. Coat the octopus pieces in this mixture and let marinate for at least 15 minutes.

  3. 6

    Grill the Octopus

Place the marinated octopus on the grill. Grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side until charred and crispy.

Lemon Caper Sauce Preparation

  1. 7

    Mix the Sauce

In a bowl, whisk together the lemon juice, capers, Dijon mustard, and olive oil until well combined.

  2. 8

    Season the Sauce

Add salt and black pepper to taste, adjusting according to your preference.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plate the Dish

Place the grilled octopus on a serving platter and drizzle with the lemon caper sauce.

  2. 10

    Garnish

Garnish with additional parsley if desired and serve immediately.
