Thinly slice the beef flank steak against the grain into strips and place in a bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and pepper to taste. Mix well and let it marinate for about 15 minutes.

Soak the wide rice noodles in hot water for about 10 minutes or until softened. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.

In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
