Preparing the Dough

Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 10 minutes until foamy.

Make Dough
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and vegetable oil. Mix until a dough forms.

Knead
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Cook the Filling
In a skillet, heat a little oil over medium heat. Add onion and cook until translucent. Add minced pork and cook until browned. Stir in carrot, green onions, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes. Let cool.
Assembling and Cooking

Shape Buns
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into equal pieces. Roll each piece into a circle. Place a spoonful of filling in the center and fold the dough over, pinching it to seal.

Steam Buns
Place the stuffed buns in a steamer, making sure they are not touching. Steam over boiling water for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
