Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Sear the Beef

In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the beef chuck roast with salt and pepper. Brown the roast on all sides, about 5-7 minutes per side. Remove the beef and set aside.

  2. 2

    Sauté Aromatics

In the same pot, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Liquid and Braise

Return the beef to the pot. Add the beef broth and calabrian chili paste. Bring to a simmer, then cover and reduce heat to low. Braise for about 2 hours, or until the beef is tender.

  4. 4

    Cook the Orzo

Once the beef is tender, remove it from the pot and let it rest. Stir in the orzo pasta into the braising liquid. Cook according to package instructions, about 8-10 minutes, until al dente.

  5. 5

    Shred the Beef

While the orzo is cooking, shred the beef into bite-sized pieces.

  6. 6

    Combine and Serve

Once the orzo is cooked, stir in the shredded beef. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if necessary. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley.
