Prepare the Glass
Rinse a chilled Old Fashioned glass with absinthe, swirling it around to coat the inside. Discard the excess absinthe.

Mix the Cocktail
In a mixing glass filled with ice, combine Rittenhouse Rye Whiskey, demerara syrup, and Peychaud's bitters. Stir well until chilled.

Strain and Serve
Strain the mixture into the prepared glass. You can serve it neat or over a large ice cube.

Express the oils from a lemon twist over the drink and drop it in as a garnish.
