Turkey Preparation

Method

Turkey Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Turkey

Thaw the deboned turkey in the refrigerator for at least 48 hours prior to cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Turkey

In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, and dried rosemary. Rub this seasoning mixture all over the turkey, making sure to get it under the skin as well.

  3. 3

    Prepare for Roasting

Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Place the turkey in a roasting pan, breast side up. Drizzle olive oil and melted butter over the turkey, ensuring an even coating.

  4. 4

    Add Broth

Pour chicken broth into the bottom of the roasting pan to keep the turkey moist during cooking.

  5. 5

    Roast the Turkey

Roast the turkey in the preheated oven for approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) when measured with a meat thermometer.

  6. 6

    Baste the Turkey

Every 30 minutes, baste the turkey with the pan juices to keep it moist.

  7. 7

    Rest the Turkey

Once cooked, remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for at least 20-30 minutes before carving. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  8. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish with fresh herbs before carving and serving. Enjoy your delicious deboned turkey!
