Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips (about 1/4 inch thick) to form fries.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potato strips in a large bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and makes the fries crispier.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.

  2. 4

    Dry the Potatoes

After soaking, drain the potatoes and thoroughly pat them dry with paper towels to remove moisture.

  3. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add a handful of the dried potato strips to the hot oil. Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding. Cook for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  4. 6

    Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, drizzle them with truffle oil and sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Toss gently to ensure even coating.

Garnish and Serve

  1. 7

    Add Garnish

Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh parsley over the fries.

  2. 8

    Serve

Serve the truffle fries hot as a delicious side dish or snack. Enjoy!
