Method
Biscuit Preparation
- 1
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk together until well combined.
- 3
Cut in Butter
Cut the unsalted butter into the flour mixture using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 4
Add Buttermilk
Make a well in the center of the mixture and pour in the buttermilk. Stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- 5
Shape Biscuits
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it about 5-6 times. Pat it down to about 1-inch thickness. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out rounds.
- 6
Bake Biscuits
Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Bacon Preparation
- 7
Cook Bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the thick sliced bacon until crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.
Assembly
- 8
Assemble Sandwich
Once the biscuits are baked and slightly cooled, slice them in half. Place 2 slices of crispy bacon on the bottom half of each biscuit and top with the other half. Serve warm.
