Filet Mignon

Mashed Potatoes

Seasonal Vegetables

Method

Preparing the Filet Mignon

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Generously season the filet mignon with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Sear the Steak

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the filet mignon and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare.

  3. 3

    Add Steak Butter

During the last minute of cooking, add the steak butter to the skillet and baste the steak with the melted butter.

Making the Mashed Potatoes

  1. 4

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and chop potatoes into chunks. Boil in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 5

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

Cooking the Seasonal Vegetables

  1. 6

    Sauté the Vegetables

In another skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add carrots, green beans, and zucchini. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender. Season with salt and pepper.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

On a plate, serve the filet mignon alongside a generous scoop of mashed potatoes and a portion of sautéed seasonal vegetables.
