Prepare the Toaster
Plug in the toaster and set it to your desired browning level.

Toast the Bread
Place the two slices of bread into the toaster and press down. Toast until golden brown as per your preference.

Remove Toast
Once the toasting is complete, carefully remove the hot toast from the toaster.

Butter the Toast
Using a butter knife, spread 1 tablespoon of butter evenly on one side of each slice of hot toast.

Add Jam (Optional)
If you prefer, spread 2 teaspoons of your favorite jam on top of the buttered side of one slice of toast.

Prepare Avocado Toast (Optional)
Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl. Mash it with a fork, then season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

Spread the mashed avocado mixture on the second slice of toast, or simply place slices of avocado on top.
