Preparation of Steak

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine the olive oil, lime juice, ground cumin, chili powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.

  2. 2

    Add Steak to Marinade

Place the flank steak in the marinade, ensuring it is well coated. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours for best flavor.

Vegetable Preparation

  1. 3

    Slice the Vegetables

While the steak is marinating, slice the bell peppers and onion into thin strips. Mince the garlic cloves.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Cook the Steak

Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

  2. 5

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add a little more olive oil if needed, and add the sliced bell peppers, onion, and minced garlic. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they're tender and slightly caramelized.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Slice the Steak

Once the steak has rested, slice it against the grain into thin strips.

  2. 7

    Combine and Serve

In a serving dish, layer the sautéed vegetables and sliced steak. Serve with warm flour tortillas, sour cream, guacamole, and salsa on the side.
