Method

Preparing the Garlic Butter

  1. 1

    Make the Garlic Butter

In a small bowl, combine softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, chopped fresh parsley, and lemon juice. Mix until well combined and set aside.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 2

    Season the Steak

Generously season the ribeye steak on both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. 3

    Preheat the Pan

Heat a cast-iron skillet or a heavy-bottomed pan over high heat until it’s very hot.

  3. 4

    Cook the Steak

Add the ribeye steak to the hot skillet. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium-rare. Adjust the time according to your preferred doneness.

  4. 5

    Add Garlic Butter

In the last minute of cooking, add the prepared garlic butter to the pan. Spoon the melted butter over the steak as it finishes cooking.

  5. 6

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Cooking the Sides

  1. 7

    Prepare the Asparagus

While the steak rests, trim the tough ends off the asparagus and place them in a bowl.

  2. 8

    Season and Cook Asparagus

Drizzle the asparagus with olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat. Heat a separate skillet over medium heat and cook the asparagus for about 5-7 minutes until tender and slightly charred.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plate the Dish

Slice the ribeye steak against the grain and serve with the garlic butter drizzled on top alongside the sautéed asparagus.
