Steak

Tropical Fruit Marinade

Method

Prepare the Marinade

  1. 1

    Combine Marinade Ingredients

In a medium bowl, mix together pineapple juice, orange juice, lime juice, honey, and minced garlic until well combined.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the 10 oz wagyu flat iron steak in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.

Prepare the Chimichurri

  1. 3

    Mix Chimichurri Ingredients

In a bowl, combine the chopped parsley, cilantro, minced garlic, red wine vinegar, olive oil, red chili flakes, salt, and black pepper. Stir well until everything is combined. Set aside to let the flavors meld.

Cook the Steak

  1. 4

    Preheat Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 5

    Season the Steak

Remove the steak from the marinade and pat it dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  3. 6

    Cook the Steak

Place the steak on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Prepare the Frisée Salad

  1. 7

    Mix Salad Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the chopped frisée lettuce, halved cherry tomatoes, and sliced cucumber.

  2. 8

    Dress the Salad

Drizzle the olive oil and lemon juice over the salad. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Toss gently to combine.

Serve

  1. 9

    Plate the Dish

Slice the rested steak against the grain and serve it on a plate alongside the frisée salad. Drizzle chimichurri over the steak before serving.
