Method
Preparing the Tea
- 1
Boil the Water
In a medium-sized pot, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.
- 2
Add Tea Leaves
Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add 2 teaspoons of tea leaves to the pot. If using a tea bag, simply add it to the water.
- 3
Steep the Tea
Cover the pot and let the tea steep for 3-5 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.
- 4
Strain the Tea
If using loose tea leaves, strain the tea into cups using a fine mesh strainer. If using a tea bag, simply remove it from the pot.
Adding Optional Ingredients
- 5
Sweeten the Tea
Add 1 tablespoon of honey to the strained tea if desired, stirring until fully dissolved.
- 6
Add Lemon Juice
Stir in 1 tablespoon of lemon juice for a refreshing citrus flavor.
- 7
Add Milk (Optional)
If you prefer a creamier tea, add 1 tablespoon of milk and stir well.
- 8
Incorporate Ginger (Optional)
For a spiced flavor, add a slice of fresh ginger into the cup before serving.
