Bolognese Sauce
Method
Bolognese Sauce Preparation
- 1
Cook the Vegetables
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, carrot, celery, and garlic. Sauté until the vegetables are soft and translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
- 2
Brown the Meat
Add the ground beef and ground pork to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking up the meat with a spoon, about 8-10 minutes.
- 3
Add Wine and Tomatoes
Pour in the red wine and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes. Then add the crushed tomatoes, oregano, bay leaf, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.
- 4
Simmer the Sauce
Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. The longer it simmers, the better the flavor.
