Filling and Crust

Method

Preparation and Baking

  1. 1

    Make the Pie Crust

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cold water, a tablespoon at a time, until mixture forms a ball. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Filling

In another bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, apple liqueur, and pear vodka (if using). Let it sit for 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  4. 4

    Roll Out the Dough

On a floured surface, roll out the pie crust to fit a 9-inch pie pan. Place the rolled dough into the pan and trim the edges.

  5. 5

    Fill the Pie

Pour the apple filling into the pie crust, distributing evenly. Sprinkle the top with granulated sugar.

  6. 6

    Bake the Pie

Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for an additional 35-40 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the crust is golden brown.

  7. 7

    Cool and Serve

Allow the pie to cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
