Method
Steak Preparation
- 1
Season the Steak
Sprinkle salt and black pepper evenly on both sides of the ribeye steaks.
- 2
Heat the Pan
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
- 3
Cook the Steak
Place the seasoned steaks in the hot skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached.
- 4
Rest the Steak
Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
French Fries Preparation
- 5
Prepare the Potatoes
Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin strips (about 1/4 inch wide).
- 6
Rinse and Soak
Rinse the potato strips in cold water to remove excess starch, then soak them in a bowl of cold water for 30 minutes.
- 7
Dry the Potatoes
Drain the soaked potatoes and dry them thoroughly using a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.
- 8
Heat the Oil
In a deep pot or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 9
Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the potato strips in batches to the hot oil. Fry for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels. Season with salt immediately.
Garlic Butter Preparation
- 10
Melt the Butter
In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter.
- 11
Add Garlic
Once melted, add the minced garlic cloves and let them cook gently until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
- 12
Add Parsley
Stir in the chopped fresh parsley and a pinch of salt. Remove from heat.
