Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Patties

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix well until the seasoning is evenly distributed.

2

Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cooking

3

Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until they reach your desired doneness.

4

Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover the grill or skillet to melt the cheese.

Assembly

5

Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

6

Assemble the Burgers

Spread barbecue sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place the cooked beef patty with melted cheese on top, followed by lettuce, tomato slices, onion rings, pickles, and any optional toppings you desire.

7

Finish and Serve

Cap with the top half of the bun, secure with a toothpick if necessary, and serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
