Method

Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  5. 5

    Add Boiling Water

Carefully stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth. The batter will be thin.

  6. 6

    Add Oreo Cookies

Gently fold in the whole Oreo cookies into the cake batter.

  7. 7

    Bake the Cakes

Evenly distribute the batter between the prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. 8

    Cool the Cakes

Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frosting Preparation

  1. 9

    Cream the Butter

In a large mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter until creamy and smooth.

  2. 10

    Add Sugar and Cream

Gradually add the powdered sugar and heavy cream, mixing until well combined and fluffy.

  3. 11

    Add Vanilla

Stir in the vanilla extract until mixed.

  4. 12

    Add Crushed Oreos

Fold in the crushed Oreo cookies into the frosting mixture until evenly distributed.

Assemble the Cake

  1. 13

    Frost the First Layer

Place one cake layer on a serving plate and spread a layer of frosting on top.

  2. 14

    Add Second Layer

Place the second cake layer on top and frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining frosting.

  3. 15

    Decorate

Optionally, decorate the top with additional crushed Oreo cookies or whole Oreos.
