Pour in the chicken broth, then add the clams (if using canned, add them along with their juice). Add the bay leaves, thyme, salt, and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil.

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer uncovered for about 15-20 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.

Stir in the heavy cream and milk. Allow the chowder to heat through for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove the bay leaves from the pot. Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary. Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
