Method

For the Oreo Cookies

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugars

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

  6. 6

    Scoop and Bake

Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are firm.

  7. 7

    Cool the Cookies

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

For the Cream Filling

  1. 8

    Beat the Filling Ingredients

In a medium bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and mix until well combined. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  2. 9

    Assemble the Oreos

Once the cookies are completely cool, spread a generous amount of the cream filling on the flat side of one cookie and top with another cookie, pressing gently to adhere.
