Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking dish or line it with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cornmeal, all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well mixed.

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted unsalted butter, and honey until fully combined.
Baking

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir just until combined; do not overmix. The batter should be slightly lumpy.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the top is lightly golden.
